If you cannot access some IU services from off campus
Due to security issues, UITS has temporarily blocked access from outside the Indiana University network to some IU services. To access the following services, you must be connected on campus or via an IU VPN connection or the modem pool:
- Exchange email accounts (See At IU, using an outside ISP, why can't I connect to my Exchange account with Outlook or BlackBerry Desktop Manager?)
- Some IU Library resources
-
Webserve (See Accessing Webserve from outside the IU network)
- The whois service and IU's ph server
Note: When connecting from off campus, SSL VPN is the replacement for IU's IPsec- and PPTP-based VPN services, and UITS recommends using it now if your campus supports it. PPTP is retired at IU Bloomington and IUPUI, and IPsec VPN service at those campuses will be retired by fall 2010.
