Your computing account username
For most of your Indiana University computing accounts, your username is assigned automatically and consists of letters based on your last name, your first name, and possibly your middle name. For Guest accounts, your username is the email address you gave when you signed up for the account.
You need to use your username and passphrase to log into your computing accounts and also to access some services (e.g., OneStart, the computers in the Student Technology Centers [STCs], Oncourse CL). Your IU email address consists of your username followed by the appropriate campus designation. Under certain conditions, you may change your username. For more information, see:
