Switching between lines on a multi-line telephone
If you have a multi-line telephone in your office at Indiana University Bloomington, you can switch between calls on each line without disconnecting your current call. For specific information, see the appropriate section below:
Caller ID telephones
To place a call on hold and make or answer a second call
- Make or answer a call on one line.
- To make or answer a second call on another line, press the second
line key. This automatically places the original call on
hold.
- To switch to the original line, press the line key of that call. When one call is complete, press RLS.

To switch between calls
- Press the flashing diamond corresponding to the party with whom
you want to speak.
- To switch to another call, press the flashing diamond
corresponding to that call.
- When you are ready to terminate a call, press RLS.
