Getting started with UMS for campus housing residents

What is UMS?
Unified Messaging Service (UMS) is a voice mail service available for students in campus housing at Indiana University Bloomington and IUPUI. With UMS, you can store voice messages in your email mailbox, and use your email client or the telephone user interface (TUI) to access these messages.
To create your UMS voice mail account:
- Go to the UMS Voicemail page at: https://umsweb.iu.edu/
- Click
click here to create your UMS voicemail account.
- Enter your Network ID.
- Follow the prompts.

Advanced features
With UMS, you can use several advanced features unavailable with traditional voice mail, such as the following:

Forward:
Forwards specific inbound phone calls to a designated local or campus
phone number (but not long distance)

Notify
Me: Sets inbound phone calls to notify you by email of
specific types of incoming calls, or sets your phone calls to notify
you of specific callers' voice mail messages. (Use this to send text
messages to cell phones or pagers.)

Do
Not Disturb: Ensures you are not disturbed by certain
callers by redirecting calls to your voice mail

Custom
Greeting: Sets a specific text greeting for specific
callers
- Forward Copy: Forwards a copy of your voice mail to an email address
